Black Friday in Bend is less about camping outside a mall and more about choosing the right shopping zone. The Old Mill gives you national brands and local shops in one walkable area, Downtown Bend is strongest for independent gifts, and Elevation Bend is the current name of the former Bend Factory Stores. This guide separates confirmed 2026 events from retailer deals that have not been announced yet.
2026 Black Friday weekend: the dates that matter
| Day | Date | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Thanksgiving | Thursday, Nov. 26 | Most major shopping districts are closed or reduced-hours; enjoy the holiday |
| Black Friday | Friday, Nov. 27 | National-brand promotions, outdoor gear, apparel and larger retail centers |
| Shop Small Saturday | Saturday, Nov. 28 | Independent Bend shops, local gifts and Downtown Bend’s confirmed event |
| Sunday | Nov. 29 | A calmer day to finish local shopping |
| Cyber Monday | Monday, Nov. 30 | Online deals and local stores that extend promotions online |
Important: as of September 3, most individual Bend stores have not posted their 2026 Black Friday promotions. We will not recycle last year’s doorbuster times and pretend they are current.
Where to shop on Black Friday in Bend
Old Mill District
Old Mill District is the easiest one-stop option if your list mixes national brands, outdoor gear, beauty, clothing and local specialty shops.
The current directory includes stores such as REI, lululemon, Anthropologie, Athleta, Banana Republic, GAP, Sephora, Portland Gear, Madewell, Saxon’s Fine Jewelers, Tumalo Art Co. and local specialty shops. Store mix changes, so use the live directory rather than an old blog list.
A few useful 2026 realities:
- the Old Mill currently lists standard shopping-center hours of 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday–Saturday and 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Sunday, but individual stores can keep different hours
- the district says shops are closed on Thanksgiving
- it has more than 1,400 parking spaces across the district
- Black Friday-specific retailer hours and discounts should be checked directly with each store closer to November
- Oregon has no state sales tax, which is meaningful on larger purchases
Best for: mixing national retailers with local shops, outdoor gear and a meal without moving the car repeatedly.
Downtown Bend
Downtown Bend is the better choice when the goal is gifts that actually feel like Bend: books, art, jewelry, clothing, home goods, local food products and independent boutiques.
The bigger confirmed 2026 event is actually the day after Black Friday.
Shop Small Saturday - confirmed for November 28
The Downtown Bend Business Association has confirmed Shop Small Saturday for Saturday, November 28, 2026. Its current event page says shoppers can bring a same-day Downtown Bend receipt to the DBBA tent outside Bellatazza on Wall Street between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for raffle entries, with drawings beginning at 3 p.m.
That makes Saturday a strong choice if you care more about local businesses than racing for national Black Friday promotions.
Best for: independent businesses, Bend-specific gifts and a walkable local-shopping day.
Elevation Bend - formerly Bend Factory Stores
If you still search for Bend Factory Stores, the current name is Elevation Bend.
The shopping center rebranded in 2026. Its current directory includes a mix of discount/outlet and standard retailers, with brands such as Nike, Columbia Sportswear, Pendleton, Victoria’s Secret, Maurices, Rack Room Shoes, Carter’s and other specialty shops.
The old All Things Bend guide treated “Bend Factory Stores” as if that were still the current center and listed stores that were no longer reliable. This is the version to use now.
Address: 61334 S Hwy 97, Bend, OR 97702
Best for: outlet-style apparel, shoes and brand shopping on the south end of Bend.
What we removed from the old guide
A current local guide is more useful when it admits what changed.
- Bend Factory Stores → renamed Elevation Bend in 2026.
- Bed Bath & Beyond at the Old Mill → removed; it is not a current Old Mill tenant.
- “Redmond Factory Stores” → removed. We could not verify a current shopping center matching the old description.
- Guaranteed 5–6 a.m. openings → removed. Retailer Black Friday hours vary and most 2026 schedules are not published yet.
- Old retailer lists → replaced with links to live shopping-center directories.
- I Like Pie as a Black Friday event → removed from the Black Friday schedule because the run is traditionally a Thanksgiving-morning event, not a Friday shopping event.
What is confirmed vs. still pending for 2026
| Item | 2026 status | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Black Friday date | Confirmed - Nov. 27 | Save the date |
| Downtown Shop Small Saturday | Confirmed - Nov. 28 | 10 a.m.–3 p.m. receipt/raffle event currently posted |
| Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting | Confirmed - Dec. 5 | Separate holiday event, useful if you stay into December |
| Old Mill retailer Black Friday deals | Not posted yet | Check individual retailer pages in November |
| Elevation Bend store-by-store deals | Not posted yet | Check center + retailer sites closer to Nov. 27 |
| Big-box opening times | Not posted yet | Do not rely on old 5 a.m. schedules |
If you want outdoor gear
Bend is one of the rare places where Black Friday shopping can be genuinely useful for ski, snow, running, hiking and outdoor gear.
Start by comparing:
- current Old Mill outdoor retailers
- brand stores at Elevation Bend
- independent Bend outdoor shops
- used-gear and consignment options when a new-item promotion is not actually a better value
For skis, boots or technical equipment, fit and service can matter more than the percentage-off sign. A heavily discounted boot that does not fit is not a deal.
If you want Bend-made and locally owned gifts
Skip the generic gift guide and shop by person:
For the outdoors person
Think local outdoor shops, guide-service gift cards, locally designed apparel, maps, trail books and experience gifts.
For the food-and-drink person
Look for local coffee, chocolate, spice shops, restaurant gift cards, bakery treats and Central Oregon-made food products.
For the home person
Downtown and Old Mill specialty shops are useful for local art, candles, kitchenware, leather goods, home decor and locally made gifts.
For the person who already has everything
An experience is often better than another object: a tour, class, massage, restaurant, movie, climbing session or other Bend activity.
A simple Black Friday weekend plan
Friday - national brands + practical purchases
Start with the Old Mill or Elevation Bend for the items where you actually care about a brand-specific promotion. Check the live retailer deal before driving over.
Saturday - shop local
Spend Saturday in Downtown Bend. The official Shop Small Saturday event runs 10 a.m.–3 p.m. and is the better local-business day.
Sunday - finish without the rush
Use Sunday for the places you skipped, local specialty stores and food/drink stops. It is usually easier than trying to complete the entire gift list Friday morning.
Black Friday shopping tips for Bend
- Check the exact store, not just the shopping center. Retailers control their own promotions and special hours.
- Screenshot the promotion. Note exclusions, promo codes and whether the price is online-only.
- Compare return policies. Holiday returns can matter more than saving another 5%.
- Ask about price matching before buying. Policies change by retailer and product.
- Factor in Oregon’s no-sales-tax advantage. The shelf price is generally the checkout price before any other applicable fees.
- Do not block traffic chasing residential-style parking shortcuts. Use designated shopping-center and downtown parking.
- Shop local on Saturday if that matters to you. The 2026 Downtown event is already on the calendar.

We will keep updating this guide
This page was re-checked on September 3, 2026. Black Friday promotions are intentionally announced late, so we expect the most useful retailer-specific updates to arrive in November.
If a Bend business publishes a worthwhile 2026 promotion or shopping event, send it to All Things Bend. We would rather add a confirmed deal later than publish a made-up one early.
