Ceiling fans, bathroom fans and appliance add-ons
These tasks can mean very different things on a cleaning quote. Request each one by name rather than assuming “deep cleaning” includes mechanical equipment.
Ceiling fan cleaning
Ask whether the cleaner dusts both sides of the blades, the accessible housing and attached light covers. Give the ceiling height in advance and confirm safe access, floor protection and any high-reach charge. Heavy dust removal is separate from fixing wobble, loose mounting or electrical faults.
Bathroom exhaust fans
Dusting the visible grille is different from cleaning the accessible blower and housing. A noisy fan or poor airflow may need diagnosis or replacement. See bathroom exhaust fan cleaning and replacement.
Dishwasher, refrigerator and washing machine care
Cleaning shelves and wiping appliance surfaces may be housekeeping add-ons. Dishwasher filter removal, refrigerator coil access and washing machine filter care depend on the model and provider’s scope. Use the appliance cleaning and maintenance guide for a task checklist.
For dryer exhaust, water heater care, HVAC cleaning or smoke/CO alarm checks, compare home maintenance services and the relevant specialty trade. Arrange housekeeping after dusty repair work where practical.
A good house cleaner should make your week easier, not add another thing to manage. In Bend, the right company depends on the job: recurring housekeeping, a one-time deep clean, a move-in or move-out reset, a vacation-rental turnover, or specialty work like hard-water removal, windows or post-construction dust.
Standard, deep or move clean?
These sound alike, but the workload is very different. Knowing which one you need is the fastest way to a fair quote.
Standard / recurringKitchen counters and sink, appliance exteriors, bathrooms, reachable dusting, vacuuming, mopping and trash. Baseboards, blinds, oven and fridge interiors and windows are usually extra. For a home already in decent shape
Deep cleanAdds baseboards and trim, blinds and sills, cabinet fronts, shower buildup, fans and fixtures, and behind movable furniture. Ask exactly which of these are included.Best before starting recurring service
Move-in / move-outAn empty home lets cleaners reach cabinet and drawer interiors, appliance interiors, closets and floors. Quoted differently from housekeeping.Don't assume every item is included

Questions to ask before you book
- Is this a flat quote or an hourly estimate, and how many cleaners will come?
- What's exactly included, and are baseboards, blinds, appliance interiors and windows add-ons?
- Do you bring supplies and a vacuum, and can you use my products if I have sensitivities?
- Are you insured, and are cleaners employees or independent contractors?
- What's the cancellation or rescheduling policy, and what happens if something's missed?
- For recurring service, will I usually get the same cleaner or team?
Cleaning a Bend home
Hard water, dust, pine needles and pets
Mineral deposits on shower glass and fixtures can need more than a normal bathroom clean, so mention heavy buildup when you request a quote. High-desert dust, trail dirt, pine debris and dog hair pile up fast; if floors and pet hair are your main issue, say so, so the team can allow time and bring the right equipment.
Vacation homes and short-term rentals
Turnover cleaning isn’t normal housekeeping. Ask about linens and laundry, restocking consumables, damage reporting, same-day turnovers, photo documentation and backup coverage if your usual cleaner is out.
Moving into a Bend home: the right order
- Finish dusty contractor work (painting, flooring, remodeling).
- Haul away construction debris.
- Schedule the deep or move-in clean.
- Clean carpets or refinish floors if needed.
- Move furniture in once everything is dry.
Book the clean too early and you may pay to clean twice.
Getting the most from each visit
- Put away papers, cash, jewelry, medication and fragile items.
- Clear counters you want thoroughly cleaned, and pick up floors.
- Explain how to enter, and whether pets will be home.
- Name any surfaces that need special products, and your top priorities.
