Match breakfast to your day

What’s the plan after?

In Bend, breakfast is fuel for whatever comes next. Pick by the day, not the menu.

Eat on the way up

Don't lose your parking spot to a sit-down breakfast. Grab bagel sandwiches at Big O on Galveston (it's on the way to Century Drive) or pastries at Sparrow in NWX. Save the big plate for a weekday.

Local moves

How to skip the wait (and other things locals know)

Get on a list before you leave the house. McKay Cottage runs a live waitlist on waitlist.me. Sintra takes reservations. Jackson's Corner takes group reservations. Bend Breakfast Burrito takes orders by text. That covers most of the "we waited an hour" stories you'll hear.

Most kitchens close at 2. Bend breakfast is a morning thing. If your crew sleeps in, Jackson's (breakfast until 3), Sintra (3pm weekdays) and Sparrow (4pm weekdays) are your late options. Laurie's serves breakfast until close.

Weekdays are a different town. The famous spots that run an hour-plus wait on Saturday are often walk-right-in on a Tuesday. Summer weekends, holiday weekends and powder days are the worst.

Check the day of the week. Palmer's closes Mondays, Nancy P's closes Wednesdays, the Lemon Tree is closed Monday and Tuesday, and Blissful Spoon only does brunch Thursday to Sunday. Plenty of visitors have shown up to a dark window.

Old pins lie. The original Sparrow Bakery in the Old Iron Works is closed (Café des Chutes is in that space now), and Jackson's Corner Eastside is closed too. If your maps app still shows them, it's out of date.

Stay on your side of town. Bend has enough good breakfast that crossing town at 8am on a Saturday is rarely worth it. Pick your area in the finder above and eat close to wherever you're headed next.
