Downtown Bend Trick or Treat Trail
Downtown Bend, Wall & Bond streets
51 downtown shops hand out treats, from Cravin’s Candy Emporium and Leapin Lizards Toys to Dudley’s, Thump and the Tower Theatre. Look for the orange “Treat Trail Stop” posters in windows.
There’s no set start point. Park once (the Centennial garage on Lava is the easy bet) and loop Wall, Bond, Minnesota and Oregon.

Old Mill District Halloween
Center Plaza, Old Mill District
Trick-or-treating at shops across the district, Central Oregon Aerial Arts performances, the Humane Society of Central Oregon’s pet costume contest, School of Rock and photo spots by the river.
It runs at the same time as the Downtown trail, about a mile and a half away. Pick one and save the driving.
3–6 p.m.
Witches Paddle on the Deschutes
Launches from Riverbend Park, floats past the Old Mill
Bend’s most Bend Halloween tradition: witches (and anyone in costume) on paddleboards, kayaks, canoes and tubes. Kid- and dog-friendly. It benefits MountainStar Family Relief Nursery, which asks for size 4–6 diapers, gas cards or grocery cards.
Now 3–6 p.m. (it was 4–6 in earlier listings). Late launchers can just join in. Bring a life jacket; the river is cold in late October.

Weather, parking and safety
🧥 Dress for 30s
Sunny afternoons turn cold fast at 3,600 feet. Size costumes to fit over a puffy, and pack gloves for the after-dark loop.
🔦 Light them up
Sunset is at 5:58 p.m. and many Bend streets have no sidewalks or streetlights. Use glow sticks, a headlamp and reflective tape.
🅿️ Park once
Downtown and the Old Mill fill up fast on Halloween afternoon. Park once and walk; don’t try to do both by car.
🛶 Cold river
Witches Paddle folks: bring a life jacket and dress for a cold dunk. Spectators, keep the river access and trail edges clear.
🏡 Porch lights
Lit porch means yes, dark means no. Stay on sidewalks, cross at corners, and don’t cut through yards.
🚗 Slow down
Drivers: 5–8 p.m. is the busy window. Pull fully into driveways, and plan a sober ride after parties.

Yes, but it’s the last day for Smith Rock Ranch and DD Ranch in Terrebonne. Schilling’s Garden Market north of Bend stays open through Sunday, Nov. 1.
