March happens. Donuts do not.
The sign out front starts rotating jokes hinting the donuts are coming soon. Thousands of Galveston commuters read them at the light. Still no donuts.

If you drive Galveston, you know the sign. Instead of an opening date, it keeps getting swapped for a new tongue-in-cheek message hinting that the donuts are coming. Honestly, it is some of the best marketing on the west side: people slow down, read it, and talk about it. (It is also how half of Bend ends up searching “when does the donut place on Galveston open.”)
