Also worth a call: BendTECH, Bend’s original tech coworking space (since 2011), now in the lower level of 395 SW Bluff Dr in the Old Mill; its site lists dedicated desks at $400/month. Its website hasn’t been updated recently, so confirm before you go.

Bend has more coworking space in 2026 than ever. Kiln opened a 42,000-square-foot building in the Old Mill in May, the county’s new Central Library added a free co-working floor the same month, and Work-Collective now runs two campuses. That’s good news, but it means “best” depends on how you work: a visitor who needs one quiet day, a remote employee who wants a monitor and a locker, and a five-person team that needs a door with its name on it should all end up in different places.

    • Need a big monitor: Work-Collective day passes include the option to reserve a sit/stand desk with a large monitor, if one is free.
    • Weekend or evening: day passes are weekday-only at most spaces. The Central Library is open every day, until 8 p.m. Monday–Thursday.
    • Flying in: Redmond Airport (RDM) is about 20–25 minutes from the Old Mill and Midway; the westside spaces add 10 minutes.

Questions to ask on a tour

Tour two spaces, not six. Go on a weekday around 10 a.m. so you see the real crowd, and tick these off:

The Bend workday, season by season

    • WinterSnow days are real. 24/7 access and a space close to home matter more than a view. Ask whether the lot is plowed early.
    • SpringMud season on the trails, powder days at Bachelor. Flexible-day plans let you trade a weekday for a ski day without wasting money.
    • SummerLunch floats and trail laps: The Haven sits on the Deschutes River Trail, Embark backs onto Phil’s Trail, Kiln is by the Old Mill river path.
    • Fall & smokeWildfire smoke can push air quality into unhealthy ranges for days. A building with good filtration beats a patio office; ask what the HVAC runs.

    Running a business from Bend

    • Business address: Work-Collective’s virtual office gives you a Bend address with mail handling from $110/month.
    • Notary: Work-Collective has notary services on site; the Deschutes Public Library also offers notary service.
    • Growing a team: Kiln’s team studios (8–20 people) and Work-Collective team plans (from $565/month) are built for that; Bend Central Offices leases private offices with no membership fee.
    • Hosting an event or workshop: The Haven’s Library room (20 seats, $200/hour), Kiln’s atrium and event space, and Embark’s event rooms.
