Before you go

Good to know

  • Pick a driver or book a ride. Only Oregon Spirit is in town; the rest are 15 to 50 minutes away on highways. Wanderlust Tours' Local Pour is a half-day craft beverage tour with pickup in Bend that includes spirits stops.
  • Tours and tastings are different. Most rooms pour flights any open hour, but production tours are by reservation or appointment. Ask when you book.
  • Pours are small. Oregon liquor rules cap how much a tasting room can pour each guest, so flights and "mini cocktails" are the norm.
  • Hours shift with the seasons. Several rooms close early in the week. We list what each posts as of October 2026; check the site the day you go.
  • Collect stamps. The Bend Ale Trail's "Drinkable Diversions" add cider, wine and spirits stops. See our Bend Ale Trail guide.
  • Bottles to bring home. Tasting rooms often stock releases you won't find at the liquor store. For everything else, see Bend liquor stores.

FAQ

Distillery questions

How many distilleries are in Bend, Oregon?

Inside Bend, Oregon Spirit Distillers is the one full distillery with a public tasting room. BackDrop Distilling also distills in town but has no walk-in tasting room, and Forth Distilled Goods makes bottled cocktails. Crater Lake Spirits pours at its distillery just outside town near Tumalo. Gompers (Redmond), Cascade Spirits (Sisters), Badlands (La Pine) and New Basin (Madras) are all within about an hour.

Is there a distillery tasting room in downtown Bend?

Not right now. Crater Lake Spirits' downtown tasting room on NW Bond Street, a block from the Dogwood Cocktail Cabin, has closed. Oregon Spirit Distillers on NE 1st Street is the closest, about a mile north of downtown.

Can you tour a distillery in Bend?

Yes. Oregon Spirit Distillers offers production tours by reservation. Gompers in Redmond does tours by appointment, and New Basin in Madras advertises tours and tastings. Wanderlust Tours' Local Pour (a half-day craft beverage tour with pickup in Bend) visits spirits makers among its stops.

Which Central Oregon distillery tasting rooms are open every day?

Crater Lake Spirits on Pinehurst Road (12–5) and the Cascade Spirits tasting room in Sisters (12–6, per Wild Roots Spirits) list daily hours. Oregon Spirit and Gompers are open Wednesday through Saturday. Hours change, so check before you drive.

Do Bend distilleries sell bottles?

Yes. Oregon Spirit, Crater Lake and Cascade Spirits all have bottle shops, and tasting rooms often carry releases that are hard to find in liquor stores. Oregon liquor laws limit how much you can taste per visit, so flights are small pours.

What happened to Freeland Spirits in Bend?

Freeland Spirits' Bend tasting room in the Box Factory has closed. The Portland distillery and its PDX airport tasting room are still open.
