Reservations, closures and timing

Bend’s Italian dining rooms are small, close early by big-city standards and take seasonal breaks.

Book Sbandati and BOSA ahead

Both are small. BOSA opens reservations 30 days out at 9 a.m. and needs a card for 3+ guests; Sbandati is dinner only, Tuesday through Saturday.

Watch the fall breaks

BOSA closes Oct 31–Nov 17, 2026 and Salute closes Nov 2–11, 2026. Shoulder season is when Bend restaurants rest.

Eat early

Salute’s last seating is as early as 7:30 midweek, and happy hour is 4–5 p.m. Plan dinner around 6.

Walk in at the bar

BOSA keeps its bar for walk-ins 21+, the easiest way to get in without a reservation.

Italian for every kind of night

Lunch on the go

Cotto at The Podski for a chicken parm or porchetta sandwich, Wednesday through Sunday.

Bring your own bottle

BOSA allows two 750 ml bottles at $28 each, and will decant ahead if you drop the wine off before dinner.

Local tips

  • Nome Italiano on SW Knoll Ave has closed; older lists still mention it.
  • Gluten-free: Cotto calls itself gluten-friendly, Fat Tony’s has a GF crust, and Pastini lists GF options. Ask about shared prep.
  • For Italian sandwiches and delis, see our sandwiches guide; for pizza, our pizza guide.
  • Most kitchens close by 9 p.m. Fat Tony’s, open until 10, is your late option.
