Delivery is not the same as setup
A doorstep delivery can solve the transportation problem while leaving you to carry the tree inside and secure it. A setup service may help with those tasks, but have the seller spell out what its package includes.
| Service | What to confirm |
|---|
| Door delivery | Front door, driveway or another agreed location; delivery window |
| Carry-in | Stairs, narrow entrances, access through a garage and protection for floors |
| Tree setup | Trunk preparation, positioning and securing the tree in a suitable stand |
| Decorating | Lights, ornaments, topper and materials; usually a separate scope |
| Removal | Carry-out and recycling; arrange independently unless included |
This matters for an upstairs condo, a tall-ceiling room, or a household where lifting a bulky tree is difficult. Share photos of the entrance and intended location before the delivery date.
Christmas tree delivery costs
The Vegetable Man’s page is labeled 2025 Christmas tree prices. Its posted delivery-to-door fees are $40 within Bend city limits, $50 for certain nearby areas and $75 for several farther Central Oregon destinations. Posted setup add-ons start at $50 for trees up to eight feet, with larger sizes costing more.
Those are prior-season figures, not confirmed 2026 prices. The tree and stand cost extra. Check the seller’s current page and request one total for your address, size and setup needs.
Compare the complete purchase:
Tree + stand if needed + delivery + setup + decorating + eventual removal.
A shorter tree you can safely carry and set up may cost less than a larger tree needing extra handling. Conversely, setup can be worthwhile if it solves the hardest part of the job for your household.
Measure before you order
Measure floor to ceiling, then account for the stand and topper. Ask how the seller measures the tree so you do not double-count or overlook the stand height.
Width matters just as much as height. Check room corners, walkways, doors, furniture and the tree’s position relative to outlets. A beautiful tree that blocks the main route through the room is the wrong size.
Send the seller:
- Desired tree height and maximum width.
- Address and any stairs or gate instructions.
- A photo of your stand, including any size rating.
- A photo of the intended spot.
- Whether someone will be home to receive it.
- Whether carry-in and setup are needed.
Ask how substitutions work if the requested size or species is unavailable. A delivery slot is not useful if the replacement tree will not fit.
Fresh tree or artificial tree?
A fresh tree brings a seasonal scent and natural shape, but requires ongoing care and a disposal plan. An artificial tree can be reused and stored, though assembly and decorating still take time.
If you already own an artificial tree, look for holiday decorating services rather than a fresh-tree delivery company. Describe how many sections it has, whether it is pre-lit, where it is stored and whether lights need troubleshooting.
For a fresh tree, request the seller’s care instructions and check water regularly. Keep the placement away from heat sources and leave the route to doors clear. Do not assume a setup visit includes ongoing care.
Other ways to get a Christmas tree in Bend
Choose a tree at a lot
Vegetable Man lists Bend tree-lot locations on its website. Confirm this season’s locations and opening dates rather than relying on last year’s hours. Picking a tree yourself is useful when shape and fullness matter more than the convenience of delivery.
Cut a tree with the proper forest permit
Recreation.gov’s Deschutes National Forest Christmas tree permit page is the place to check the current permit, cutting rules and maps. This is a self-service outdoor trip, not a tree-delivery service. Check road and weather conditions, carry the required permit and follow the rules for the permitted area.
Have your existing tree decorated
A decorator may be able to assemble and style your artificial tree or decorate a fresh one after delivery. Ask separately about materials and removal. See Bend holiday decorators.
Plan the end of the season now
Keep track of who owns the stand and any supplied decorations. Save the order confirmation and photograph the tree before it is decorated if there is a size or condition issue to resolve.
When Christmas is over, use our Christmas tree pickup and recycling guide. For the outside of the house, compare Christmas light installation. Find the whole seasonal collection in Holidays in Bend.
