The classic Bend whitewater hit: 3 miles of the Upper Deschutes with a scout at Big Eddy, then four class III drops back to back. Two hours door to door from the 531 SW 13th St office, so it fits before lunch.
Crew tip: Book more than 7 days out for the lower price. No alcohol before or during the trip, so raft first and drink after. 2026 ran May 9 to Sept. 30.
Float the Deschutes through town

The laziest good time in Bend: 1–2 hours drifting from the Old Mill to Drake Park, with an optional small rapid at the Bend Whitewater Park (left channel only). Sun Country’s electric carts shuttle you back to the Park n Ride at 90 SW Columbia.
Crew tip: No alcohol is allowed on the water or in Bend parks, and the river is busy. Save the beers for the Podski afterward. 2026 tube rentals ran June 6 to Sept. 27.

The ZipTour drops nearly 1,400 vertical feet down the volcano, billed as the Northwest’s steepest, fastest, highest zip. The lift-served bike park has 13 trails and 13+ miles, from beginner laps off Little Pine to a double-black line off Pine Marten.
Crew tip: Finish with a sunset dinner at 7,800 feet in Pine Marten Lodge (Thursday–Sunday, reservations required). The “Zip & Dip” bundle pairs the zip with a Big Eddy raft.

Crew tip: Drive up early: the Cascade Lakes Hwy fills fast on powder days. Check ODOT TripCheck and carry traction tires or chains.
Night skiing at Hoodoo

The only night skiing in Central Oregon: 23 lit runs, 4–9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday (except winter and spring break). There’s also the Autobahn Tubing Park.
Crew tip: Pair it with a Friday arrival: drive over, ski under the lights, and stop at Three Creeks in Sisters on the way back.

Central Oregon Adventures has run guided sled trips from Wanoga Sno-Park since 2002, with 2-hour trips daily at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. and a sunset option. Octane takes riders into Newberry National Volcanic Monument (Paulina Lake, the Big Obsidian Flow) on 2, 4 or 8-hour tours, December to April.
Crew tip: Central Oregon Adventures is already booking the 2026–27 season. Wear ski gear; drivers need a valid license.

Bend’s singletrack is the real reason a lot of guys pick this town. Cog Wild runs scheduled shuttles to the Wanoga, Swampy and Dutchman trailheads from mid-May to the end of October, plus “Wanoga Hot Laps” on most summer Saturdays and guided rides for mixed-ability groups.
Crew tip: Rent Class 1 e-MTBs if half the crew hasn’t ridden in years. Cog Wild also has private group shuttles and winter fat-bike tours.

Tetherow runs a 2-hour scramble with pro instruction for 3–18 players. Widgi Creek has been voted Central Oregon’s favorite public course 20+ times by Source readers and has a golf simulator for bad days. Juniper Preserve (the old Pronghorn) has Nicklaus and Fazio courses; Brasada Canyons, Aspen Lakes in Sisters (red sand bunkers) and Black Butte Ranch all book groups.
Crew tip: Eight or twelve golfers are much harder to place than four, so call the pro shop about back-to-back foursomes before you lock dates.

The Big Bike was built in Bend: 10 pedal seats, 2 passive seats and a rumble bench. It turns the brewery afternoon into an actual group activity instead of three hours at one picnic table.
